  • I just got a Royal Purple potion and it said I could sell it for 2 gold. I was trying to look up what it does, and saw that the wiki says "n/a" as the price. The game told me I could sell it for 2 gold, so I edited it. Please fix, if that is not true (maybe selling feature is broken for that item? What could n/a mean when it seems like a normal item. No further explanation on the page. I would've expected a "?" or "unk" if it just was waiting to be confirmed.)

    • The wiki said n/a as the gem price to buy the potion, but 2 as the price to sell it (one column over). I've reverted the change.

  • Hey, Breadstrings! I'm new to Habitica and the wiki.

As a newbie, what should I focus on first? I created a guild page for College Info Geeks, since I follow its blog, but I'm not sure if I should proceed on studying and creating more Armory pages or not.

    • Hey, Tturnerpanorama, welcome to Habitica/the wiki! It looks like Breadstrings hasn't been active on the wiki recently so I hope you don't mind if I jump in.

The Guidance for Scribes page has a section on suggestions for what to write. Additionally, the Category Index that Purplatypus recently created is a handy way of finding articles on specific topics that you might want to review. Note that while Armory pages can be very useful, the wiki's article pages are its heart and soul -- in fact, contributor tiers are only awarded for edits made to the main wiki and not to pages in The Armory/The Keep.

      Hope this helps!

  • Hey! Just wondering when I can expect contribution tier updates. I started my request when I hit about two hundred wiki achievement points and now I'm at 690. I don't know if I should wait for what I requested to be put through or if I should resubmit, and I don't know what of my acheivement points is enough to justifying a single tier much less more than one anyway. Just a heads up would be very cool. Thank you and sorry to bug you!

    • Hi Missyvecc,

Sorry for the slow progress with the applications. I only have time to check them roughly once every three months or so these days. I've had a brief look at the history of your application, it appears you gained points pretty fast! I'm impressed. :) I'll see if I can sketch out some time to look at the wiki applications sometime this weekend. Thank you for alerting me to the backlog we have there.

    • No worries at all. I just didn't want to be obnoxious updating it! Giving me an idea of when is all I needed. Thank you and I really appreciate your quick reply - I know how swamped you all are.

  • Hi, Breadstrings. I'm new to the wiki, and believe that you are an admin. Assuming that's right, I am just bringing to your attention a very minor typo on the mainpage: in the "Guild/Party Pages" box, at one point it reads, "Feel like it needs it's own wiki page?" where that "it's" should be "its" instead. Also, according to the Guidance for Scribes, a later occurrence of "honour" in that same box should have the American spelling "honor" instead.

Anyway, just pointing out an edit that requires higher privileges to execute.

    Cheers!

  • Hey Breadstrings, I have been recently updating my contribution tier request page like crazy and I noticed the my page had something that Other peoples applications didnt have. My application page is titled Hold - Rbrinkley,Tier 1 . Is there a reason for this or am I special case? I hope im special. I like being special. Either way, I have been adding a lot to my contributor application page and have already gained enough points to apply for tier 2 contributor, I am worried that I my contributions may or may not be able to account for btaining both tier 1 and tier 2. Could you please be able to answer this for me, I would really appreciate it. And I hope you have a great day.-Rbrinkley

  • Nice reference to the song under your avatar! Laughed when I got it, had to say it out loud though to get it, lol.

  • In the 'spinning many plates' routine I do, I volunteered to put together a Quick Reference Card for Scribes, using my experiences as a technical writer for minimalist information design.     She said that I ought to bring it to your attention if you hadn't already seen it.

    Kind regards,

    • Hi Breadstrings, long time no talk :)

I saw I've been promoted to lvl1 because of wiki helping. Thank you for that. I continue the same way with most of my effort and limited time focused on helping translating the game. I think this is separate tier from wiki, right?

Thank you once again and If there is anything I could help please let me know :)

    • Hi RealBG, I'm glad you took most of our suggestions into account. :) Translating is a separate tier, yes. I don't manage that side of things, though. I'll definitely let you know if any projects pop up that I think would be good for you.

  • Hi, Breadstrings. Thanks for the contributor level, it's very exciting! I'm waiting for the right moment to show my party my snazzy new helm.

I admit that I was not clear on how wiki tiers relate to contributor tiers. Can tell me in advance whether wiki tier 3 (650 points) has the potential to get me to contributor tier 4? (I understand that it's always at y'all's discretion, so I'm just asking whether it's possible.) I intend to continue contributing either way -- the main reason I'm asking is to know whether I should make a point of editing every single day in order to get my streak badges. Otherwise I might occasionally take a day off (:

    • A little editing every day doesn't hurt. ;) To be honest, the points are just a guideline. There are a few instances where a wiki contributor jumps tiers based on the magnitude of their contribution even if they haven't met the required number of points. There have even been some instances where a wiki contributor gets tiers without even applying! Which shows how much work they put in to be noticed by admins. ;)

Basically, you can consider the wiki points as the minimum amount of contribution required to apply for a tier. Then the admins assess the quality of that claim and upscale/downscale tiers as needed. And then we have exceptions on top of that. Alys and ThePeopleSeason are good examples of wikiers that gained tiers without applications. I'm a good example of a wikier who gained tiers by magnitude of contribution rather than soley on wiki points.

I see you becoming one of the exceptions if you continue the way you have. ;) All the wiki admins said that they were "impressed!" by your contributions. But have faith! We will definitely give you credit (and contrib tiers!) where credit is due. ;) But feel free to prod us if we fall asleep. Haha.

PS: The snazzy helm is awesome, but I think your Tavern colour change might have given you away. ;)

  • Hi, Breadstrings. I've reached 300 points and made a post in The Keep for my contributions. Do I need to do anything else to get my contributor levels, or should I just sit tight? Thanks! AxialGentleman (talk) 00:49, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

    • Sorry for the delay @AxialGentleman. I know it seems exordantly slow to reply to a small application especially since you've taken the time and effort to not only contribute to the wiki but also write said application. As deilann said, most likely the application will be declined if there is insufficient work done. Any work (except adding categories) on the wiki is appreciated and will count towards your contribution level. So you can only do yourself good. Plus, if we're extremely slow to address your application, you can update your it to jump a level if you've acquired the appropriate number of wiki points and haven't had any other HabitRPG contributions (i.e. coding, pixel art, promotions, etc). We will consider whether the contributions does indeed allow you to skip a level or if more work is needed to do so. :) We will get around to applications slowly but surely.

    • Thank you, @breadstrings and @deliann! I will soldier on and look forward to my eventual contributor levels.
