  • Hi Mark,

Great work with the new winter clothes image additions. :) Perhaps it would be easier for you to grab the images from here as not only are the images freely available (no more print screens! yay!) but they're also transparent and don't have the boxes around them which would make the images more cohesive with the page.

Keep up the good work! If you need any help, drop me a line. :)

    Mel

    • When I click "Upload a new version of this file" on images and upload new ones, I've been running into the problem that sometimes instead of uploading the transparent image that I select, it instead acts as though I simply uploaded a smaller version of the image I'm replacing. I don't suppose you know what's going on there/how to fix it?

    • sometimes it does that because we're not zoomed in on the item anymore. It takes a while for the images to take hold once replaced. Try waiting overnight and see if it's still an issue tomorrow. If so, I'll have a look to see if I can find out what's going on.

  • Hey - saw your edit on the Healer gear tabber, and your rationale (going to template pages instead of articles so we don't clutter search with junk). Good thinking, I think, um, but did you make template pages or? Could you explain where it's currently grabbing the info from? Do we still need the pages that show up in search (Healer Headgear, etc)? I added another part to the tabber with more gear but couldn't figure out how to get it like you did...

Templates lose me sometimes, heh. That part of the wiki is... messy.

    • Yeah, it took me a bit of playing around to figure out how to make this work. Basically, you can make a template page by going up in the url and, for example, instead of having "habitrpg.wikia.com/wiki/Healer_Weapons", you would instead put "habitrpg.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Healer_Weapons" and then click "create". Working on these pages is like working in the "source" tab on articles. To make the tables, I actually just copied previous people's work and edited it to give the info; over time I started figuring out how the formatting worked and got more comfortable making my own changes. Linking to these pages in the tabbers is really easy: before, the tabbers linked to (same example) ":Healer_Weapons", and I just pub in "Template:Healer_Weapons" instead to link to the new page. Once this is set up, we no longer need the articles that show up in the search in order to make the tabber work. The templates are nice because they're easy enough to find, but they aren't there for people who are just trying to look up info. If you want, I could make a template out of the tab that you added and change it, I'm also up for giving you whatever help you need in doing it if you want to learn how. Sorry for being a bit wordy, I'm prone to walls-of-text when I'm typing.
