Habitica is a great tool to get things done - but I have to admit that the most helpful motivation is my party. Not the recurring Dailies that remember me what's to do now. But the new friends in our small group and the Quests we battle together.
My first party consisted of complete foreigners from different timezones, and a high level Rogue completed most of the quests alone. No, that was not funny. I wanted to help with the Bosses and I wanted to feel myself as an important part of the party, and so I joined my recent party.
At the moment we are seven, and I like it to be in a small party. We have 2 Warriors, so even the big Bosses are manageable for us - but the really hard quests for our party are the collection quests, even with 2 Rogues!
I just changed my class for the second time and I am now playing a Mage. My first chosen class was a Healer, because I wanted to support my party. But there was not much support needed with 2 healers, so I switched to Warrior. I liked the ability to smash our foes, but with my many Dailies and a Perfect Day Bonus I was able to kill most of the Bosses alone - and that was very disappointing for my party members. As a Mage I can support my party with Mana - and Ethereal Surge is the only spell I use for support, although I could damage the Boss, too with my spells (but not after the Warrior experience).
So a good party with teamwork and support for each other helps to feel connected, to feel important and motivates me to complete the last Dailies late in the evening. Yes, I like it to collect the equipment items etc, and my favorite class is Rogue (although I did not played as a Rogue yet ^^), but I underestimated the effects of a party and how my motivation was raised by my gorgeous party members.
